A. 1. Short-term goal (before graduation),
A. 2. Long-term goal (after graduation) - goals must be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound (SMART):
Specific = What, Why, Who, When, and How. Make sure each of your goals are clearly stated and defined. If you don't know where you want to go, any road will take you there. Try to combine as many of your goals together as possible so that you are able to accomplish more in less time.
Measurable = If you can't measure your goal, you can't mange it. Break your goal down into bite size tasks and create checkpoints to monitor your progress and create positive momentum. Stay flexible with your goals and don't be concerned if you need to make some changes to your goals as you advance toward their
accomplishment.
Achievable = Be mindful not to set too large a goal or too short a time frame. Your goals should stretch your capability, but at the same time they need to be "mentally
attainable" so you don't lose interest.
Realistic = Do you have the time and resources to achieve your goals?
Time-bound = Set meaningful deadlines to give your goals a sense of urgency. Without meaningful deadlines, you run the risk of having your goals fade away into the mist of procrastination.

Assignment #2:
Read the following advice from 2015 graduates and summarize in your assignment page: Which graduate's advice was your favorite? What was the most important advice to you, why? What is your overall reaction?
1. My advice for the incoming LMP I students is first of all, they should be proud that they got accepted in this program. They should also take advantage of the opportunities that you offer in class. I am also confident that having this class would really help them when they’re in need of tutoring. I also know that this class would really help them encounter to be like in a work place and they'll appreciate how simple things matters to other people.
2. Take the opportunities when you have it in front of you. Not many people will get the same chances that you will. You may struggle, but what is the beauty of an accomplishment if there were no struggles? Let your perseverance be bigger than your fear.
3. Don’t let Mr. Chong nag you! Turn in everything before it’s due!!!!! You really don’t want to have to experience a lecture about how it should’ve been done already or how you should’ve contacted him about it being late because let me tell you something, you feel as if your dad is scolding you. Not a good feeling at all.
4. Show passion in everything that you do. Show that you care about this program. Be outspoken, outgoing, humorous, initiative, innovative, and yourself. Show leadership skills. Pay attention. What happens outside of the class room, doesn’t belong in the classroom. (Negative emotions, etc…) Do tasks on time. Mr. Chong is not lenient with due dates. He doesn’t give too much work so, if you do not complete an assignment, it will affect your grade drastically. Stay on top of things. Communicate with the teacher if you won’t be showing up to class. Don’t be lazy when it comes to cleaning. We cleaned this class room for three years and we want to keep it clean even when we’re gone. Don’t download unnecessary stuff on the computers such as games or pictures. We kept those computers clean for three years and we want to keep it clean even when we’re gone. Projects are challenging in this program. Do your part so that other group members would enjoy working with you. Make good relationships with your class mates because they will be with you for the next three years. Make the most out of each day and I’ll promise you that you will learn more than just Lodging Management in this program. You will learn life-long skills. You will have a good looking resume after this program. You will have many credentials. You will be one step higher than your peers. My best wishes to you.
5. My advice to incoming LMP I students would be to take advantage of all the opportunities you are given. The LMP academy is unlike any other clique or club you can find at Simon Sanchez high school. You shouldn’t be afraid to speak up or cry or react in any certain way. You should be genuine when in this course because that’s what a lot of the program is about. You genuinely want to welcome and entertain guests and strangers with the warm and generous personality you possess.
6. The advice I would give to LMP I students is to do your work on time. In our class we have few assignments and it’s great that you do every single one. The outcome of not doing one the assignments is it drastically brings your grade down. Mr. Chong is a nice guy but when you decide not to do your work, the naggy professor will always be in your shadows. He will nag you until you do it. Yes, it may seem a lot of work but then it’s all worth it in the end. Another advice is always communicate with Mr. Chong. He is a very understanding professor and he will always consider the situation if reasonable. He has helped me throughout my 3 years of high school and I will always count on him.
7. My advice for any LMP student that will come in after my year is to always do your work on time. No matter what always turn in the work on time. The work is small and easy and if you miss it you can fail the class because of the small workload of the class. If you find it impossible to do your work on time, talk to Mr. Chong about it and reschedule it. Never just assume and it will really help you to just talk to Mr. Chong.
8. My advice for them is to be confident and trust themselves. High school will go by so fast. Create memories that you'll love and not regret. Don't let anyone stop you from becoming who you want to be, you don't always have to do what everyone else is doing. Be happy and most of all be wise with everything. Be humble, be strong, be smart and take every opportunity that's given. Be inspired and be an inspiration. Make yourself proud of your accomplishments. It's okay to fall in love but don't let it distract you from your goals. Have fun with everything and good luck.
9. My advice for the upcoming LMP I students is to do their work on time and to be respectful to Mr. Chong and also to not get lazy.
10. Don’t be that bad kid who doesn’t do much for the class. Be open minded and approachable. Make use of the opportunities you get from Mr. Chong because they will help you tremendously. Anything you don’t take will be a missed spot on your resume and it’s also a missed experience. They are very fun opportunities and they should not be missed.
11. My advice to LMP I class of 2018 is to enjoy high school. It may seem like four years is such a long time, but TRUST ME before you know it, you’ll be wishing to turn back the hands of time once you reach the final countdown senior year. I know a lot of seniors say, “YES! High school is almost over!” But we know that after high school is another milestone that we have to overcome like; college, work, bills, family, rent, food, water.
12. Advice that I would tell the LMP I students is DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. Even though you will end up procrastinating just try our best not too because you will regret it big time trust me us seniors know. Your high school career will go by fast believe me you're a freshman now but tomorrow you'll be graduating. You should make every day of your high school career worth it. Join clubs, sports and be active with your class because in the end you're gonna regret not doing the things you should have done. And don't worry too much because worrying leads you to stress and being stressed out is never a good result so just don't worry too much because i have faith that you will pass. :)
13. Make sure you have Internet access at home or wherever possible. You will do a lot of computer work, so you need to internet access.
14. To all LMP I students take all the opportunities that Mr. Chong gives you! It really does help you and it looks really good in a resume. Don't let high school be a waste, give it your all and just enjoy the little time you have. Once you let it slip it will hit you and you'd be regretting what you did or didn't do. When making friends, don't choose because they are your race because it better to expand your range to everyone. Lastly, don't be scared to share with your class, because if your class turns out to be like our class they would be there for you as your 2nd family.
15. ENJOY YOUR HIGH SCHOOL LIFE! TAKE ALL THE OPPORTUNITIES TO BUILD A “WALKING ON WATER” RESUME, YOU WON’T REGRET IT. BUT MAKE SURE YOU GRADUATE.
16. Don’t chew gum, it’s a taboo. Don’t cuss unless you want to do pushups. Don’t use your cellphone while class is in session unless you want to leave it on Mr. Chong’s desk for half of your sophomore year (like what I had to do). Don’t miss an assignment unless you want your grade to drop. Mr. Chong is an understanding person, just talk to him. Be passionate, be considerate, be responsible, be outgoing, and be yourself. This class will help a lot in life. Take advantage of ALL the opportunities it has to offer.
17. The advice I would give the incoming LMP students is to take advantage of all the opportunities Mr. Chong gives you. Pile up your resume and take all your chances. It will help you with your career and help you get farther. Taking this class is like having an advantage in high school.
18. An advice that I would give to the new students would be that for all those shy students don't be afraid to open up to Mr. Chong. A.

Chong. This learning environment these people you see in front of you are going to be with you for the next three years. If you like it or not you're going to end up talking and opening up to them because that is what LMP is about. These people are going to be your second family, just watch. Just don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and do what you enjoy doing because limiting your life is boring. I hope you do your best in the next three years about LMP and make it worth it because these years are going to go by fast.
19. My advice would be to enjoy every bit of it, not only in LMP, but also your whole high school years. Make wise decisions and make sure everything you do, it makes you happy. ALWAYS listen to Mr. Chong and be responsible and responsibility for your actions.
