My long-term career goal is to be ___________. (You can add more to your long-term goals).
Goals must be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound (SMART):
Specific = What, Why, Who, When, and How. Make sure each of your goals are clearly stated and defined. If you don't know where you want to go, any road will take you there. Try to combine as many of your goals together as possible so that you are able to accomplish more in less time.
Measurable = If you can't measure your goal, you can't manage it. Break your goal down into bite size tasks and create checkpoints to monitor your progress and create positive momentum. Stay flexible with your goals and don't be concerned if you need to make some changes to your goals as you advance toward their
accomplishment.
Achievable = Be mindful not to set too large a goal or too short a time frame. Your goals should stretch your capability, but at the same time they need to be "mentally
attainable" so you don't lose interest.
Realistic = Do you have the time and resources to achieve your goals?
Time-bound = Set meaningful deadlines to give your goals a sense of urgency. Without meaningful deadlines, you run the risk of having your goals fade away into the mist of procrastination.

Assignment:
Read the following advice from 2020 graduates and summarize in your Assignments page (due Oct 2020)
Copy these questions and answer them.
a. Which graduate's advice was your favorite? Why?
b. Which graduate's advice was the least useful? Why?
c. Work with a partner and list three common themes from these advice.
1. My advice to incoming LMP students are to be yourself and do your work on time. You may be in a class with people you do not know or if you're lucky enough you'll be with your friends. Always stay open minded to discussions that happen in class. Do not be afraid to take on new opportunities given to you, those are the ones you'll learn the most in. Make sure to also stay motivated in class because it will show Mr. Chong how dedicated you are. Lastly, put your all into the program, LMP will help you in the future only if you allow it to.
2. For those joining LMP I, I highly recommend grabbing every opportunity that Mr. Chong offers. Although some opportunities introduce new ideas to you, don’t be afraid as it will allow you to develop and build your resume along with your professionalism. I would also recommend being ambitious throughout high school. Although Mr. Chong will offer many opportunities for you, it’s truly up to you to own it. Whether you run for an officer position or apply for a job, never settle for anything within your comfort zone.
3. My advice would be for them to enjoy high school. Not to the point where they are having bad grades or doing drugs. I want them to have fun and make memories. While having fun also make sure to know what you are doing after high school because that will really help you.
4. My advice I have for the incoming LMP I students is to always take advantages in the opportunities given to you, especially in the work forces. It doesn't hurt to try new things and to explore your options, if its there, TAKE IT. Not everything is given to you like how people give away a piece of gum in the hallways. Be the person who chooses what is best for THEM no one else. High school is tough but it all depends on how you choose it whether it would be easy or hard, all you have to do is listen, follow and take action. This class will offer you many opportunities and usually 1/5 people will not take those opportunities. Do not be that person, be your own and take that step into accomplishing your dreams and goals. If no one offers you anything yet, work twice as hard now so you can meet your options half way and overcome many more choices in the near future. Mr. Chong will be there to help and not only as a teacher you see him as but someone to talk to when needed, DO NOT BE AFRAID to ask. Always remember, nothing is ever wrong with asking.
5. My advice is to just listen to Mr.Chong. Communication is key! If you want to talk, then talk because Mr.Chong is really understanding. Another thing is to be prepared and on time. Make sure you take advantage of all the opportunities he gives too. You’re going to enjoy LMP, make the best of it!
6. My advice to incoming students is that you should have fun. don't have any problems with anybody and just trust each other. be honest with each other and you'll find that family bond
7. The main advice I would give is to take all the opportunities that LMP offers. It can help build your resume and give you new experiences. The opportunities can also help you with service learning and your portfolio. When it comes to assignments try not to procrastinate as work done with effort is better than last minute. Always come to class on time as it can help you change your bad habits.
8. My advice I have for the incoming LMP 1 is to take advantage of all the opportunities given to you. Not everything is given to you once you get out of high school. Don’t be afraid to ask. Even when you need someone to talk to Mr. Chong will be there to listen to you even when you’re struggling he finds a way to help you.
9. My only advice for incoming students is to make the best of it and to not give Mr. Chong a hard time because he'll be one of the best teachers you won't forget from high school.
10. My advice for them is to always come on time and be prepared. By the time they enter the classroom, they should have their phone off or else Mr.Chong would get mad. I would tell them not to fall asleep or he would embarrass you in front of the class. Last advice would be to follow instructions and meet the deadlines of each and every assignment.
11. I would say that you should make sure your heart is in this class. I wasn't always in tune with Mr. Chong, but he definitely taught me so much in this class. If your heart is really in this class, it will be the fastest three years of your life. Another piece of advice I'd give is to take advantage of the opportunities given to you. This class really allows you to get a jump in the game if you take advantage of the opportunities Mr. Chong offers. His intentions are always to see you strive and helps you every step of the way, so allow him and allow yourself to get there.
12. Don't be afraid to speak up and contribute your ideas. Take part of all the ice breaker questions even if they are as simple as "what's your favorite color?" Take advantage of all the opportunities that Papa Chong offers because there is no other teacher that will give you new experiences and help you prepare yourself for your career or college. DO NOT BE LATE!!! you will feel the wrath of sass coming your way. Listen carefully and follow instructions. Do your work on time and make sure it's A worthy. When you start doing the books just be patient, be engaged and try to understand because the boring lessons will actually help you if you truly want to succeed in this industry. Most of all just be yourself, don't be afraid to express yourself. Have fun and make the most memories with your new second family <3
13. My advice for incoming LMP 1 students is to always pay attention to the lesson you are learning because you'll need it in your life. Never come in late to class without a pass because you'll be lectured about that. You always need to communicate, communication is key to this program. Cherish every moment in LMP because you'll love it, Mr. Chong makes learning fun and although we do books it’s still a fun lesson to do .
14. Lastly, put your all into the program, LMP will help you in the future only if you allow it to.
15. My advice to the incoming LMP I students are COMMUNICATION IS KEY. It is important to communicate with Mr. Chong. Another is please message Mr. Chong if you're going to absent. It's like a real job. Try to take part in the ice breaker questions! They can be fun and memorable when everyone answers (TRUST ME). When Mr. Chong offers stuff to you, make sure you take advantage of them. They can be great opportunities for you to help build up your resume and build you up as a person. Do your work experience, it is really good experience for you! No job is hard just because someone says it is. Challenge is a good thing. And lastly, please take care of Papa Chong! He's a good teacher! He can be tough at times, but he just cares for you and wants you to succeed! One more thing, enjoy every minute of that class because you never know when something will take away time from that class! Congrats on being in the program sophomore!
16. My advice for the incoming LMP I students is that you should ALWAYS take advantage of ALL the opportunities that is thrown at you. Some of them may not be interesting but it’ll help you in life, not going to lie about that. Being in this program means there’s a lot of getting along so that means there’s going to be trust involved. Don’t take Mr. Chong’s kindness as a weakness. Whatever that is being taught in class would help you in life later, so if I were you I would stay focused. Overall, have fun and enjoy your time being in the class. Make great memories with not just your classmates but also Mr. Chong.
17. A wise person once said " what you do today is a predictor of what you will do in college or in a job. Gotta get rid of bad habits now " this advice hit me so hard, I finally saw that the bad habits I've picked up in high school was dragging me down slowly. Not doing an assignment I said that I would do, turning in an incomplete assignment, thinking " an F is better than nothing " these got me nowhere. So either get rid of bad habits now, or suffer the consequences later.
18. My advice would be never stop giving up. I know it's a cliche but there would be days where you don't want to do much. But all that hard work is going to pay off.
19. My advice to the incoming LMP 1 students is to always be on time! Because we all know how Mr. Chong is about attendance. But more importantly always stay on task and be respectful. You won’t have anything to worry about because you will love the class and everyone who’s in it. I would say have fun learning and make the best of it like we did.
20. Don’t be scared. Communicate well with Mr. Chong. Do not isgnore, do not feel afraid to speak to him because he is there it help you. Don’t do something you will regret. Mr. Chong is a well trusted and helpful person. He is also the best teacher.
